KaNest®-ICC EMV Level 2 Terminal Test Suite selected by APPLUS+
Applus+, the EMVCo Level 2 accredited laboratory based in Barcelona (Spain), has selected the EMV Level 2 Terminal Test Suite developed by GALITT that implements the “EMVCo Type Approval Terminal Level 2 Test Cases” (version 4.1a dated February 1st, 2006), corresponding to the EMV 4.0 specifications plus published all published Application Note bulletins and Specification Update bulletins.
The GALITT implementation of the EMVCo test cases has successfully gone through a qualification process undertaken by EMVCo, so that this KaNest®-ICC Test Suite can be used by EMVCo accredited laboratories since February 13th, 2006.
GALITT offers this comprehensive and ready-to-use Test Suite to prepare accepting devices for approval testing of the EMV specifications for Level 2. Due to both a unique and powerful configuration table set which allows to automate Test Cases selection from the ICS table and the Multiple Configurable Kernel implementation and a user-interface specifically designed for processing of huge numbers of Test Cases, the EMV Level 2 Terminal Test Suite shortens the time required for processing the full EMV Level 2 Test Plan.
Using the KaNest®-ICC Test Suite, Applus+ intends to improve the efficiency of its evaluation process.
Gerard de MOURA, Managing Director of GALITT, said: “We are proud of seeing Applus+ selecting our implementation of the new 4.1.a EMVCo Test Cases, thus recognizing the level of efficiency and of quality that we are bringing to the industry to face the continuing challenge of EMV deployment and interoperability throughout the world.”

KASYS - "Test Card Simulation Bundle facilitating End-to-End Testing from KASYS"
KaSYS, represented in Spain by AURIGAE, is pleased to announce the availability of a new Test Card Simulation Bundle for use in "End-to-End" testing as performed by the payment schemes, acquiring banks and EMV payment terminal application developers and manufacturers. The bundle comprises the entire sets of test cards from all the major payment schemes including ADVT and CCD distributed by Visa plus ETEC test card packages available from MasterCard both of which are available now with AEIPS from American Express and JIT from JCB in the final stages of development.
The test card simulations replicate precisely the functional tests offered by the corresponding physical cards. Full integration testing is also made possible without the need to access 'live' authorisation hosts by using dedicated ADVT and CCD Acquirer Test Suites confirmed by Visa or else using the Generic EMV Host Simulator (GEH). The GEH may also be used with KaSYS EMV2000 Terminal Test Suite being the preferred test tool of choice used by the main test laboratories for certification testing against the latest specification release (v4.1a) from EMVCo which is due to come into effect during May 2006.
Gerard De Moura, KaSYS President commented "KaSYS is delighted to be working with the major payment schemes to offer this unique End-to-End testing solution which comprises a test card simulation package enabling many significant advantages over the corresponding physical cards which in particular offers considerable savings on cost and time-to-market for new test card releases not to mention the ease by which 'real life' inter-operability issues may be replicated and fully investigated using the powerful features available from KaSYS extensive range of card, terminal and host network simulators".
